Briefy ("we", "us", "our") operates briefy.dev. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and what we do with it.

We keep this simple because our data practices are simple.

What We Collect

Information You Provide During the Briefing (Free Flow)

When you complete a Briefy session, you provide answers about your business, audience, goals, and design preferences. This data is:

• Processed entirely in your browser (client-side) in the free flow
• Not stored on our servers or any database unless you start a paid build flow
• Used only to generate your Website Blueprint and AI prompt
• Included in the email we send you (if you choose to receive one)

For the free flow, we do not retain your briefing answers after the session ends. If you close the browser without submitting your email, the data is gone.

For paid builds, we store the blueprint and build metadata in our database so we can execute the build pipeline and revisions.

Email Address

If you choose to save your blueprint, we collect your email address. We use it to:

• Send you the Website Blueprint email (one time)
• Store your email in our mailing list (hosted by Resend) so we can notify you about Briefy product updates

Your email is stored with Resend (resend.com), our email service provider, as a contact in our audience list. You can unsubscribe at any time by replying to any email we send or by contacting us directly.

Paid Build Data

If you start a paid build:

• We store your build job data (blueprint content, build status, revision history)
• We store your authenticated account identifier (via Clerk)
• Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive payment references (not raw card details)

Analytics

We use basic analytics to understand how the briefing flow performs (e.g., how many people start, how many complete it, where they drop off). This data is aggregated and anonymous. We do not track individual users across sessions.

What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect raw card details (payments are handled by Stripe)
• We do not use cookies for tracking or advertising
• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for marketing
• We do not use your briefing answers to train AI models
• In the free flow, we do not store your briefing data on our servers

Third-Party Services

We use the following services to operate Briefy:

We do not use advertising networks, social media tracking pixels, or third-party analytics that identify individual users.

Data Retention

• Briefing answers (free flow): Not retained. Processed client-side and discarded when the session ends.
• Build data (paid flow): Stored while your project and revisions are active.
• Email address: Stored in Resend until you unsubscribe or request removal.
• Blueprint email: Stored in Resend's email delivery logs per their retention policy.

Your Rights (GDPR)

Since we operate from Portugal, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies. You have the right to:

• Access the data we hold about you (your email address in our contact list)
• Rectify inaccurate data
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") -- we will remove your email from our contact list
• Object to processing of your data
• Data portability -- receive your data in a structured format

Legal basis for processing: Legitimate interest (sending you the blueprint you requested) and consent (adding you to our mailing list for product updates).

Children

Briefy is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we will notify contacts via email.
